I just had a baby at the end of 2021 (her name is Poppy) and you could say that it was not a straightforward pregnancy, labour or postpartum. I'm not here to tell you my sob story but baking was my way of getting through the most difficult time of my life. I couldn't eat anything, but I baked and stocked up the freezer for my friends and family to enjoy. Even though my birth story is pretty messed up, Poppy is the best girl out and the name is a little shout out to her.

You're probably thinking, yeah but what's the pear about? This might be a contentious point, but I think pears are pretty boring to eat raw (BUT they are delicious when cooked). My husband LOVES pears. Our fridge is always filled with pears and he will consume at least one pear a day. So the pear is a little nod to him for being my absolute rock.

Oh and if you want something a bit more "business-y" then you could say that Pear and Poppy represents the fruity and floral notes in the baked goods I make.
